Study on Strategies for Capacity Building of Integrated Chemicals Management (15) -A draft Outline for the Law on Integrated Management of Chemicals in Japan-

Abstract: We are recommending in this study series that a legal infrastructure for the integrated management of chemicals and an administrative body which enforces it in centralized fashions should be established in Japan in compliance with OECD Council Acts in 1970's.
In order to prompt the realization of our recommendation we here present a draft outline of the law concerning integrated management of chemicals which was made based on its draft framework proposed in December 2007. The draft outline is composed from six sections; general provisions standardized procedures of chemicals risk management six of fundamental management systems establishment of centralized administrative framework miscellaneous provisions and re-arrangement or integration of the existing related regulations.
